Electropop

It has come to our attention that many new alternative bands are emerging into the electropop genre. And why not? Whats not to like? The use "robotic" sounds and the catchy beats that get stuck in your head are but only a small part. Many are now beginning to sing with a lot of feeling that attracts attention. Usually these kinds of bands do not catch my attention, but their have been so many good ones that I have found that I had to post a couple. Listen to them now and you can say that you knew about the new age of electropop before everyone else. Some of these bands already have a lot of attention and a large fan gathering so listen now before they become known to all.

The Naked & Famous - My personal favorite of the bunch. They are lyrical geniuses and not only that, but the use of two singers plays perfectly into this. Most of their songs are pretty fast, but have a bridge in them that slows the song down and it is always at the most ideal time.
Recommended Songs: Punching in a Dream, Crazy Yes Dumb No, The Sun, Young Blood (My favorite)

The Limousines - Not going to lie the only thing that drew me to this band was the song titled Internet Killed the Video Star. After listening to it for months, I finally decided to listen to other songs by them and I am so glad that I did.
Recommended Songs: Very Busy People, Dancing at Her Funeral, Internet Killed the Video Star.

Passion Pit - Another new Electropop band.
Recommended Songs: Sleepyhead, Little Secrets, I've Got Your Number.

Bibio - This band has an interesting combination of Electropop and Folk. They use Electronically modified guitars causing them to also be labeled as experimental Electronica. These guitar melodies is what draws you into them. Listen and I promise you will not be disappointed. Also, they have a new album, Mind Bokeh that will be released next month.
Recommended Songs: The Palm of Your Wave, Ambivalence Avenue, Jealous of Roses.

Little Dragon - Another new Electropop band. Gaining a lot of popularity touring with the Gorillaz. Not to mention the fact that they are featured in the songs Empire Ants and To Binge on the new Gorillaz album.
Recommended Songs: Twice, Feather, Swimming, Constant Surprises.

Metric - They have been around for over a decade, but it is never too late to post them. Especially when they fit so well with the other bands, they are a model that I am sure the newer bands listed before have been influenced by and will continue to be in the future.
Recommended Songs: Satellite Mind, Twilight Galaxy, Too Little Too Late, Combat Baby.

  1. This is a great review considering the short list you have, all the bands that I have identified are simply amazing. The Naked and the Famous being my most inspirational and The Limousines being my most listened too and jam sess. Metric is pretty good and Passion Pit is so feel good. Thank You for this, I shall check the other bands ;D au revoir

  2. Thanks for the comment. If you have any bands that you feel are similar I would love to hear them. This genre has been growing on me and I would appreciate expanding the amount of artists as well as the knowledge I have of Electropop.
