Cage the Elephant - Thank You Happy Birthday

Ok so you hear the name Cage the Elephant. First thing that pops into your head? Ain't No Rest for the Wicked. As it should it's a great song that got played every day. It deserved it too.

This band is known by all but isn't top of the list for most. It is a band that you don't normally think to play right away, but when you listen to them you love every bit of it. It's like the TV show Malcolm in the Middle, never think to yourself, "Man, I could really go for some Malcolm right now..." but when you are randomly watching it you think, "Why don't I watch this all the time???" That is Cage the Elephant right there but music.

Now how can a band that had a great debut cd respond, well with a new cd that is different but every bit as good. At first glance you won't think anything crazy of it, but once you listen to it again you will get the Cage the Elephant feeling and realize that it's actually great.

With songs like, Shake me Down and 2024, it has those initial songs that will catch your ears and you will immediately like it. However, there are a great amount of underdog surprise songs that will grow on you. These songs are Aberdeen and Always Something.

The cd is a a great blend of Alternative Rock and Psychedelic Rock. It's very original and very good and highly recommended by the doctor.

Songs I recommend:
Shake me Down
2024
Aberdeen
Always Something
Right Before My Eyes

I agree many bands with great debut cds drop the ball the second time around, but CTE decided that probably isn't a good thing and made a great follow up cd. Kudos to them!

Shake Me Down is probably going to be everyones immediate favorite. I think though after time I will like 2024 and Right Before Your Eyes better.
